2/16/2018 David Amerson, KC, CB
The Chiefs have signed Amerson to a reported one-year, $2.25 million contract that contains up to an additional $3.75 million in incentives.

Analysis: Amerson was released by the rival Raiders earlier this month after struggling with injuries and ineffectiveness upon signing a four-year, $34 million deal in March of 2016. The 26-year-old does own 56 career NFL starts and will have an opportunity to hold down a regular role opposite standout corner Marcus Peters in Kansas City.
2/15/2018 Sebastian Janikowski, Oak, K
Janikowski's career with the Oakland Raiders has ended after 18 seasons.

Analysis: Owner Mark Davis released a statement Thursday thanking Janikowski for his contributions to the franchise. Janikowski is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent next month and the Raiders told him this week they don't plan to retain him. Janikowski spent all of last season on injured reserve with a back injury. Agent Paul Healy, says in an email that Janikowski is too young to retire. He turns 40 on March 2.
2/15/2018 Larry Fitzgerald, Ari, WR
Arizona coach Steve Wilks says Fitzgerald has told him he'll return for a 15th NFL season.

Analysis: Wilks made the comment Thursday in an interview on the "Doug &Wolf" sports talk radio show. Wilks says Fitzgerald told him of his decision in a conversation on Wednesday night. Fitzgerald hasn't said publicly whether he would remain for another season and there was speculation he might follow the lead of coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer, who both retired after last season.
2/8/2018 Darrelle Revis, KC, CB
The Chiefs have declined an $8.8 million roster bonus on Revis' contract, making him a free agent.

Analysis: It's an entirely expected move with the Chiefs needing to clear cap space and the team recently acquiring cornerback Kendall Fuller from Washington in the Alex Smith trade. Turning 33 in July, Revis spent most of last season out of the league before signing with Kansas City in late November. The four-time All-Pro played in five regular-season games and one playoff contest, recording 14 tackles and two passes defensed.
2/8/2018 Jimmy Garoppolo, SF, QB
Garoppolo has agreed to a five-year extension with the 49ers worth a reported $137.5 million, the largest contract in NFL history on a per-year basis.

Analysis: Garoppolo may not be the league's highest-paid player for long once Kirk Cousins hits the market, but it's still quite an investment on a quarterback with seven career starts to his name. Of course, he's won all of those starts and firmly established himself as the future in San Francisco by completing 67.4 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns in six games following a midseason trade from New England.
2/5/2018 Nick Fairley, NO, DT
The Saints have released Fairley with a non-football illness designation related to the heart condition that sidelined him all of this past season.

Analysis: After recording a career-high 6.5 sacks in 2016 and signing a four-year extension last offseason, Fairley was not medically cleared after doctors discovered he had an enlarged heart during a physical. The seven-year veteran and the team are also at odds over an $8 million signing bonus owed to him per the extension, with the Saints claiming Fairley had not completed a physical prior to re-signing.
2/5/2018 David Amerson, KC, CB
The Raiders have released Amerson two days before his $5.5 million 2018 salary would have been fully guaranteed.

Analysis: Amerson had four interceptions and 26 passes defensed during a breakout 2015 season, but has largely been ineffective since signing a four-year, $34 million contract prior to the 2016 campaign. Oakland may be able to use the savings towards re-signing fellow cornerback T.J. Carrie, an unrestricted free agent.
